How to create a new backup set based on your old backup set. The method outlined below is the fastest way. It will create a new catalog file with a new name and update your scripts with this new backup set. Creating a new backup set will require either erased or new backup media during the next backup.
Before doing your first backup, visit http://www.dantz.com/updates and download the latest version of Retrospect 6.x and the latest Retrospect Driver Update for Macintosh.

Retrospect will now ask you to save the catalog file for your "new" backup set.
When using a Disk, Tape, CD or FTP backup set, you usually save the catalog file to the Retrospect folder on your hard disk.
If you are working with a "file backup set", you should save the backup set to your destination media (like an external hard drive).
(consult the Retrospect User's Guide if you are unclear what type of backup set you are using)
Retrospect will automatically add a [001] or [00x] to the previous name of your backup set. You can choose your own backup set name at this time.

You have now created a new backup set and your backup scripts that used the old set have been updated with the new backup set. The next backup will require either new or erased backup media.
